Raising little ones isn’t easy.

That’s why we started as a nonprofit three decades ago and why over 100,000 adults have signed up for Bright by Text. We have partnerships with many Family Place Libraries around the country as well as Family Place Libraries nationally.

We send free text messages to families and other caregivers with easy, practical tips and activities for children from before birth to age eight. 

Our content is provided by trusted partners like PBS and Sesame Street, and customized by your child’s birthdate and your zip code so it’s just what you need, when you need it most.

We’ll never share your information or try to sell you anything. And we’ll never charge you for any of the valuable resources we provide.

Bright by Text Messages

  • Come in English or Spanish - you choose

  • Help parents (including expectant parents), grandparents, babysitters, aunts, uncles, neighbors, friends, teachers and anyone else supporting young children

  • Provide developmental tips based on a child’s age (families may sign up multiple kids!)

  • Offer timely info on local resources and events 

  • Link to more online learning materials, including videos you can access on any smartphone
