Subscriber-Reported Benefits

From surveys sent to our subscribers after both 1 month and 6 months of receiving Bright by Text messages, we’ve found that our service increases:

Confidence 95% indicate that Bright by Text helped them feel more confident and informed about their child’s development.

Competence 87% have tried a positive parenting behavior as a result of receiving Bright by Text messages.

Connections 68% report that receiving Bright by Text messages helped them bond with their child.

Encouraging Quasi-Experimental Evaluation Results

Marzano Research conducted an independent evaluation of Bright by Text in 2018. Compelling results from this study demonstrate that Bright by Text is filling an important support role for caregivers.

3-month language gain among low-income Bright by Text families compared to a control group

56% increase in awareness of local resources from a Bright by Text community message

97% of respondents are likely to recommend the program to a friend or family member

Stronger Outcomes for Under-Resourced Families

Based on disaggregating Bright by Text outcomes by subscriber demographics, we’ve found:

Hispanic and Black subscribers reported statistically significant stronger outcomes in terms of behavior engagement, connections, and confidence compared with white subscribers.

Lower-income subscribers (households earning less than $50K per year) also reported statistically significant stronger outcomes.

Net promoter score - a common customer satisfaction metric that asks “Considering your total experience with Bright by Text, how likely are you to recommend Bright by Text to a friend?” - was highest among Black, Hispanic and Native American subscribers.
